Learn to Lindy Hop! This energetic partner dance originated in the Black communities in Harlem, New York City in the late 1920s and was hugely popular around the world during the height of the Swing Era in the 1930-40s. It's still a global phenomenon! Oxford Lindy Hoppers teach fun and friendly drop-in classes that are designed to get you social dancing as quickly as possible. Our Levels 1 & 2 are progressive and will take you through all the basics you'll need for the social dance floor. No previous dance experience needed for Level 1, and no need to bring a partner for any of our classes. But do bring a water bottle and comfortable shoes - trainers are fine! The venue opens at 19:20, with classes for: Level 2: 19:30 to 20:30 @ The Loft (upstairs) Level 1: 20:30 to 21:30 @ The Loft (upstairs) - recommended for beginners Level Tech: 20:30 to 21:30 @ The Studio Social dancing for everyone: 21:30 to 22:20 @ The Loft (upstairs). Cost: 1 class @ 8£; 2 classes @ 10£; social only @ 3£. Class payments include entry to the social dance. Payment by card only. No cash payments.
