Details

An ornate four-poster bed, a signature of the Magnolia room, offers a touch of 17th-century grandeur at Hill Farm Bed and Breakfast, an elegant farmhouse with origins in the 18th century. This establishment skilfully merges its historic stone farmhouse charm with modern comforts, including a contemporary suite option featuring an expansive living and dining space. Guests can anticipate a peaceful and private stay with amenities like en-suite bathrooms, and some rooms even boast views of the traditional stable yard or gardens. Breakfast, ranging from full English to continental choices, is served in a clubhouse overlooking the equestrian facilities, providing a unique start to the day just a short stroll across the garden.

Situated on Mill Lane, Hill Farm provides a countryside setting while being approximately 2.5 to 3 miles from Oxford's city centre. This offers visitors a tranquil retreat with convenient access to the historic university colleges, the Ashmolean and Pitt Rivers museums, and the picturesque River Cherwell for punting. While a car is recommended, it's possible to walk to public transport or Old Marston Village, and a pleasant 45-minute riverside walk or a cycle track leads directly into central Oxford. For those keen on exploring further afield, the renowned Bicester Village shopping outlet is also just a twenty-minute drive away, and there are pretty walks over open farmland adjoining the Oxfordshire Way directly from the property.

My husband and I booked this for a portion of our second honeymoon and we loved it! The food was wonderful, the bed was extremely comfortable. The room was adorable and surroundings were beautiful. The host was very welcoming and accommodating. The room was small but just as described online… I read there were some complaints about that but it was accurately described and a very good value for the price. The room had everything we could need. You will definitely want a vehicle from this location, just an FYI as it is in the country a bit.

Not worth staying here for the price per night. Host and workers were not pleasant and not accommodating, in contrast to what is promoted on their website. They were not able to help with things as simple as having fruit and yoghurt for breakfast or ordering a taxi. They were rude and made us feel uncomfortable. would not come back here.

The farm is in beautiful grounds. The room we booked was very clean and some nice tea and biscuits and a bottle of water which was a very nice touch.
The room, however, was very small clostrophobic, I felt, and the dark walls didn't help.
The double bed was a small one which did give measurements in the description, but i didnt really take much notice so my fault, but when you have a partner who's 6ft 3 and big, it gets a bit squashed at night.
The staff at breakfast were lovely and did a great job the vegetarian breakfast was a big disappointment there was no veg sausage or halloumi just egg 1 tomato 1 small mushroom 1 small pot of beans and 3 tiny potatoes with 1 and half slices of toast, I did go away hungry.
It's was a lot to pay for what we got I feel
