Medieval foundations meet modern comforts at voco Oxford Thames, a unique hotel set in 30 acres of tranquil parkland directly on the banks of the River Thames. The original buildings, with a history stretching back to the 15th century and even the Knights Templar, feature charming stone walls and wood-beamed ceilings, now seamlessly blended with contemporary style. Guests can unwind in the Oxford Thames Spa and Leisure Club, complete with an indoor pool, sauna, and gym, or enjoy seasonally inspired British cuisine at the Napier Restaurant. With thoughtful touches like sustainable amenities and cosy bedding, the 104 rooms offer a restful retreat after a day exploring or attending an event at this memorable venue, which also boasts its own helipad and private jetty.
The hotel's idyllic riverside location in Sandford-on-Thames provides a peaceful escape while still being conveniently close to Oxford's historic centre, easily reached by a bus that stops right outside. Explore the 'City of Dreaming Spires', wander through the ancient colleges of the University of Oxford, visit the iconic Bodleian Library, or take a punt along the Cherwell. For those inclined towards retail therapy, the Westgate Shopping Centre and the designer outlet destination, Bicester Village, are also within easy reach. Whether you're keen to walk the Thames Path, discover local wildlife (the hotel even has its own bee houses), or simply relax in the extensive grounds, this location offers a perfect blend of town and country.

The food was amazing! We ate at the restaurant and got room service, and it was all perfect. The bars and outdoor spaces are lovely to sit and have a drink and relax.
Staff were all lovely and looked after us. Nothing was too much for them, and they went above and beyond. The receptionist who checked us in and out was so cool and had lovely energy. Massive smile to everyone she came into contact with.
The only thing I thought was a bit mad was the limited items on the menu if you booked the breakfast and dinner package, which we did. Don't get me wrong, there was still lots of choice, but I just thought for a hotel as lovely as this plus not exactly cheap to stay, just give the full menu to guests who book the package! It would guarantee guests stayed and didn't go to pubs, etc, for food, and you could just have a small addition charge for the more expensive dishes like steak, etc. That is my only bug bare for the time I was here. Would recommend 100%.
