Nowhere to put a case except under the bed if small, or hang clothes - 3 pegs; a squeeze to move around the bed; and no kettle.
Room clean, shower, taps, toilet all worked well.
Windows definitely cannot be opened, and many rooms are overlooked by other rooms or adjacent buildings - does not feel private with curtains open, particularly as no net curtain.
Air conditioning works well re temperature, but not sure how well ventilated the room is, particularly as so small. During the night it felt quite stuffy; carbon dioxide readings would be interesting.
We stayed two nights and were mostly elsewhere; longer might start too get uncomfortable.
Reception staff were cheerful and helpful.
Location is excellent; no catering in the hotel, but a choice of cafes and restaurants within 5 minutes walk. Other shops, supermarkets also.
Room prices currently advertised at £37 per night; we paid quite a lot more than that.
Pleasant walk to Oxford city centre, past Tolkien's house, or frequent bus. Peartree Park and ride bus stop 3 minutes walk.
The staff were friendly and check-in was quick and easy. and the bed was comfortable. The room was on the smaller side and lacked some extras like tea/coffee facilities, but it offered great value for money. I'd definitely consider booking again for a short visit.
Unfortunately the air conditioning was not working which was really disappointing as it’s summer and my partner and I struggle with hay fever. It just made the stay really unpleasant. The room is already super small.
Summertown is a great town and location.
