Pluses, wifi, in room safe and location in town.
Decor is eclectic and has a quirky charm.
When you arrive it’s all a bit strange as you enter the building through a bike shop so good to know this before you arrive thanks to reviews at least you are prepared. However you get the wow factor when you enter the amazing building which has been superbly renovated for the 3 accommodations upstairs.
We had a lovely 2 night stay, slept well comfy bed and no disturbance.
Entry was easy, enter codes supplied over phone by the reception at the Hotel.
We used park and ride and saved a huge amount of money on parking for two days. The No 2 bus stops are just a few minutes walk around the corner. So pleased with this booking 10/10 loved it.
Hairdryer, ironing board, tea coffee milk, mini fridge, coffee percolator. Bathroom kitted out well, excellent shower area, lovely towels and toiletries superb. Wifi good.
We loved it - location is brilliant too.
The only thing that could be improved is a longer shower screen as it is impossible to shower without getting the bathroom floor soaking wet!
We used the "just park" app and found a parking spot just a 7min walk away for £36 for two nights - no idea if that's good value or not, but I had read that some car parks are that for an overnight.
It was booked via Booking.com and they’re not helping either.
It’s a scam Hôtel….DON’T GO There!
After booking Henry’s for a Christmas getaway, we were advised that not only would we receive a door code but that we should let them know what time we were likely to arrive.
When we didn’t receive said email we contacted them to ask for the code and check our arrival time was ok. Nothing….
We gave them the benefit of the doubt and arrived at the location. With still no correspondence from them we tried calling…. The phone number is out of use. With no way of contacting them we were forced to stay somewhere else.
Avoid this place like the plague. Absolute scam and a business that looks to me like has closed and not removed themselves from booking sites.
If not then stay away.
Three mattress toppers is NOT a mattress and at £170 per night this place is unacceptable standard.
There are only two pluses for this property. The toiletries are nice and it was a good location but it wasn't cleaned properly, the cups still had tea stains inside them and the PAT testing safety sticker on the hairdryer was from 2022 which should be done annually.
We left after the first night due to serious safety concerns and ghosting from the owner. The locking mechanism for the door which consisted of the same code as the main door in the hallway, and both the main front door and the hallway door had no handle to be able to pull the door securely closed when exiting the building and therefore the doors could remain ajar meaning anyone could walk in from outside.
This coupled with an inability to lock the room from the inside and our door handle being very loose we did not feel safe at all and ended up barricading the door for the first night before leaving in the morning check in to the hotel around the corner. It was clear from the scratches across the floor that we weren't the first people to do this either.
I have complained to booking.com and requested my money back, but they are also difficult to get hold off.
