Details

Trays of homemade Bakewell tarts, Chelsea buns, and mini quiches are just some of the delights that greet you at Pickle & Lime on Botley Road. This popular spot, originally a greengrocer, has evolved into a bustling cafe and deli, known for its extensive bread offering and enticing sandwich menu. Top chef Anthony Skeats, formerly of Sir Charles Napier and The Punter, is behind the bakery, bringing his passion and years of experience to create treats like caramelised onion brioche buns and apricot and almond tarts. Whether you're after a quick coffee, a freshly made sandwich, or a selection of delicious cakes, Pickle & Lime aims to offer something different this side of Oxford.

The friendly staff and great service are frequently praised by visitors, adding to the welcoming atmosphere of this local favourite. While it once focused on fresh, high-quality fruits and vegetables, often sourced from local farmers, Pickle & Lime has successfully reinvented itself to continue serving the community. You can still find delicious deli items, and the commitment to quality remains evident in their offerings, from perfectly cooked pasties to sausage rolls. With a strong local following and a reputation for tasty food at adequate prices, it's a go-to for breakfast, brunch, or a takeaway treat.

Pleasant shopping experiences. The owner is hands on and always available to answer questions or provide suggestions.

They are slightly more pricey than your usual supermarkets but you pay to save the environment and the good quality of products.

Will definitely shop here again.

A fantastic grocers with amazing & fresh produce. At the moment the main road passing the shop is closed at one end by the bridge meaning there's less passing traffic which is such a shame for the owners of this tremendous grocers. You can still get to the shop fine from the Botley direction so I highly recommend you drop in. Quality of fruit & veg is far superior to that you find in supermarkets. So, if you're planning on buying your fruit & veg at the supermarket just down the road (Waitrose), stop by here first and stock up on the amazing produce they have. You won't regret it!

Visited at start of March lockdown and their range of excellent veg was not only good value but helped is survive early lockdown... and even grow a crop of potatoes.

The lady on the counter was friendly and the proprietor (I assume) even helped us load a 25KG sack of potatoes into the van. Really could not rate them more highly!

great selection of fresh veg, cheese and butter. I've had some really lovely pasta sauces from here when i was feeling lazy. the staff are really helpful and friendly. The carefully curated stock leans towards waitrose prices but the money goes locally which is a no brainer. The fresh veg is definately superior to the supermarket's. very lucky to have this on my door step.
