Details

Helenstowe House on Ock Street, once a doctor's home and surgery, has been the location of the Abingdon Conservative Club since 1974. Following an extensive refurbishment in 2002, the club offers comfortable surroundings with a lounge bar, dining area, games room, and a family room. Members and guests can enjoy facilities such as three well-maintained snooker tables, a pool table, and a dartboard. The club also features an attractive patio area where the traditional game of Aunt Sally can be played, and benefits from a large car park. With a history stretching back to its first committee meeting in July 1962, the club has a long-standing presence in Abingdon.

A variety of regular events and activities are hosted at the Abingdon Conservative Club, including Saturday night live entertainment, bingo on Wednesday evenings, and karate sessions on Mondays and Saturdays. The venue also welcomes dance enthusiasts with Tuesday Salsa classes and American Tribal and Egyptian Belly Dancing sessions. The upstairs function room and annexe are available for hire by non-club members, making it a versatile space for private events. New members are always welcome to call in and look around the facilities. For more information on upcoming events, membership, or room hire, visitors can refer to the club's website or contact the club directly.

Cheap beer and a cheap room to meet up. If you can ignore some of the bar conversations then you'll have a decent beer here. Could do with some work on the decorating.
