I stayed several days due to being ill here and it was a nice cozy homely place I needed to recover.
The room was small but cozy. It had everything that was needed. A good shower with good pressure and well heated. Yes/coffee station with a kettle, tv, a functional radiator and a comfortable bed.
The breakfast was a bit on the small portion side but to can be topped up with apple, banana, a variety of cereals and yogurt.
The coffee was exceptional, better than most places I have stayed.
The B&B is nearby some shops a pharmacy and a variety of places to eat.
Also, it’s easy to take a bus down to the centre.

Booked a room for somewhere to get my head down, I was travelling an hour into Oxford and an hour home from the John Ratcliffe hospital and the stress was getting too much, so I booked one night cheap stay at Pickwick’s guest house as it was just round the corner.

First glance all was ok, not particularly clean looking or anything other than a cheap b&b but I just needed a bed. Room looked lovely, towel and soaps left in the bed and bathroom was en suite so that was all good. I rushed back to the hospital and came back to the guest house at around 9pm.

I should’ve just got into bed but I noticed something down the side of the bed.. TOE NAILS not just one.. THREE. Then I noticed moldy bedsheet, so I looked around the room and bathroom. Curtains didn’t close and bathroom blind was moldy too. The bed was very firm and noisy but I got in and tried to sleep. People came and went banging as they did so until 1am, then again at 4am and staff prepared breakfast tables at 6:30am very noisily. So didn’t get much sleep!!
Had a shower in the morning, the doors of the shower didn’t fully open so almost lost a nipple sliding between them!!

Didn’t have breakfast grabbed toast and left. Staff were nice and friendly and breakfast looked ok.

I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone unfortunately, it needs work on cleanliness and comfort.

Free parking, which is a plus, and the hotel carpet needs a bloody, good clean(carpet shampoo 🤔 would help).
Breakfast was not worth the money for the price to stay at the hotel.
Very budget hotel
