Details

Freshly prepared salmon sashimi and colourful poke bowls await you at Sushi Bowl, a popular spot nestled within Oxford's historic Covered Market on Market Street. This grab-and-go style eatery offers a delightful array of Japanese cuisine, from various sushi rolls and bento boxes to flavourful gyoza and warming donburi rice bowls. It's a well-regarded choice for a quick and satisfying lunch or dinner, known for its fresh ingredients and friendly service, with options to customise your poke bowl to your liking. Conveniently located next to the fruit stand and Sartorelli's, it has quickly become a bustling destination for those seeking a tasty Japanese meal on the go.

Sushi Bowl provides a vibrant taste of modern Japanese fare right in the heart of a landmark that has been serving Oxford since 1774. The Covered Market itself is an atmospheric destination, an 'Aladdin's cave' of independent shops and food stalls, evolving from its origins as a meat and produce market to the diverse culinary and retail hub it is today. After picking up your sushi, you can find seating at small tables outside the restaurant or utilise the communal bench tables within the market, allowing you to soak up the lively atmosphere of this 250-year-old institution. Some traders in the market now have later opening hours on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, making it an appealing option for an evening bite.

Lovely friendly staff and the prawns were soooooo good. Had a mix of sushi rolls, katsu curries and poke bowls (adapted for the fussy one). Everyone loved their meal. Highly recommend
