Details

Open fires crackle in the hearths at The Harcourt Arms, a welcoming pub tucked away on Cranham Terrace in Oxford's fashionable Jericho district. This is a place that champions the simpler pleasures: well-kept real ales, the murmur of good conversation, and the surprising discovery of a blissful secret beer garden, perfect for summer drinks. Forget the distractions of pool tables and blaring televisions; here, the focus is on a relaxed atmosphere where you can unwind with a pint of Fuller's or explore a selection of fine wines. It’s a genuine local, steeped in history but with a timeless appeal, offering a cosy retreat from the everyday bustle and a chance to enjoy the lost art of simply being in a pub.

Step off the well-trodden paths of central Oxford and into the distinct neighbourhood charm of Jericho, where The Harcourt Arms stands as a testament to the traditional English pub experience. Less than a mile from the city centre, and conveniently located behind the Phoenix Cinema, it’s a pub that has retained its character, eschewing fleeting trends for enduring quality. The ambiance is enhanced by regular live music, including popular open mic nights that draw talent from across the city and beyond. Whether you're settling onto a comfortable sofa near a glowing fire in winter or enjoying the secluded garden in warmer months, this beloved Jericho institution provides an authentic and memorable Oxford experience.

Without a doubt one of the best pubs in Oxford, an atmosphere like no other with friendly, true Jericho locals. Owner is so lovely and when they have live music, it's brilliant. Also open on Xmas day - my new fav Christmas tradition.

Cosy back street pub, with a muted colour scheme, and subtle lighting, there is a small outside courtyard. 3 ales usually available.

It's a cosy English pub with friendly staff and a very Oxford ambiance.
I'll be back for more live music
