January 2024 Review - the newest:

Amazing place. Chips sometimes left in the heat bin which makes them drier, crisper, yet hot. Not great. Ryan and his staff are always helpful and will cater to your needs.

First review:
THIS is how Fish & Chips should be made. Made to order, hot fresh and satisfyingly crisp.

The Fish is the real deal! Not the unnamed horrid stuff masquerading as cod or haddock.
Curry sauce is okay, not as good as a real katsu, the likes of which I've found in some London chippies.

Off the Hook should intern here to learn how REAL chips with all the accompaniments are made!

Second review update:

I had rated the chippy on a later visit down a notch, to 3 stars - as I felt the quality of their chips hadn't been the same as on previous visits. I received a friendly and helpful message from Mr Harrison himself, asking me to mention any disappointment at the time or future visits so that they can help.

Well, I went back, more recently, a few months after my last visit. I requested that the chips to be fried fresh for me, and not placed in the 'keep warm' bin. They did exactly that. They were fresh, fluffy and steaming hot!
Knowing my diet, he also fried the king prawns separately. Let me tell you, they were delicious. They were wolfed down by our little one!

Thank you for staying true to your promise, Harrisons, and always delivering service with a smile!

I’ve been a few times now for a family (takeaway) meal for four and each time I have found the fish VERY oily and mushy (rather than crispy batter), and the chips dry and sorry looking. Lovely people and it looks like a great family business but the food just isn’t on par with the price they wish to charge. A bit like most fish & chip shops now, unfortunately.

Eaten here 5 times in 8 weeks.

First 4 i'd rate 4.5/5. Good fish and chips.

23/12 abysmal food. Two fish, one very thick and not cooked the same all the way through and the other part of that fish actually had batter on the tiniest sliver of fish you could possibly get in there. It was stuck to the batter and impossible to eat so I left it.

Chips were dry and inedible.

If you're going to open this close to Xmas, don't do it to get rid of poor product at your clients expense. We won't be back for some time. We will go back to our old chippie in Wooton, that's not as good as the best visit to Harrison's but you always get the same standard.

Delicious fish and chips. Find this shop on Google maps and tried because of the good reviews it has. Not disappointed. The gravy was also good, worth ordering to complement the fish&chips. I tried adding a dollop of Sriracha sauce and ooooh! โคตรดี :)
