Details

Fluffy pancakes stacked high with berries and cream, or perhaps the signature "All American" with pancakes, bacon, sausage, eggs, and homestyle potatoes, are just a couple of the temptations at The Breakfast Club in Oxford. This popular spot, perched on the rooftop of the Westgate shopping centre, offers a vibrant and cheerful atmosphere, drawing inspiration from 80s Brat Pack films and a laid-back Californian vibe. It's a family-run 'caf' (as they affectionately call it) where you can tuck into breakfast classics all day long, from hearty fry-ups like "The Greasy Spoon" to American-style waffles and burgers. The colourful, quirky decor, complete with posters and cactuses, makes it a fun and welcoming space for everyone, whether you're after a strong latte to kickstart your day or a indulgent milkshake.

Beyond the extensive breakfast and brunch offerings, which include plentiful vegetarian and vegan options like scrambled tofu and vegan bacon, The Breakfast Club also serves a range of lunch and dinner dishes. You might find yourself tempted by buttermilk chicken, wraps, or even nachos with all the trimmings. The friendly staff are used to a bustling environment, especially during peak times like weekends and half-term, so booking ahead can be a good idea, though they do their best to accommodate walk-ins. Located conveniently within the Westgate centre, it's an easy pit-stop for shoppers and sightseers alike, and some even mention a "secret" tropical-themed cocktail bar called Backseat Becky's. With generous portions and a menu designed to please, it's a reliable choice for a satisfying meal at any time of day.

5 stars – The Perfect Brunch, Thanks to Alex!
Came to The Breakfast Club for a birthday brunch and had such a lovely experience, all thanks to Alex! He was so welcoming from the start and made the whole morning feel special. From making sure our drinks were always topped up to checking in at just the right moments, his service was spot on. He even added a personal touch by chatting with us and making everyone feel comfortable. The food was great, but it was Alex who made it memorable. Honestly one of the best brunch experiences I’ve had – can’t recommend him enough!

Went to the BC on Saturday and had a great breakfast. It was quite busy (as expected the day after Valentines) so we had to wait a little. They offer the option to wait indoors or get a reminder after 10 minutes when a table should be ready— and it was!

The menu had loads of options and the prices are fair. The staff were very friendly and quick to help with anything we needed. The food took a little longer than usual, but given how busy it was, I can’t complain!

The only small issue was the front door. It seemed to be broken — it had a sign saying it was automatic, but it wasn’t. Since it didn’t fully close behind people, it stayed open and cold air kept coming in. Would be great if that got fixed :)

Overall, a great experience, and I’d defintely go again!

We came here to try something different for breakfast. We got there and there was only one person waiting tables. Obviously this made service really slow. The breakfast itself was a typical breakfast, it was nice enough. The price of drinks, is extorsion. £6.50 for apple Juice and £3 for a mug of tea with a teabag in it. Then they had the cheek to add a service charge. Two breakfast and drinks £44.72. Go to Wetherspoons and save yourself some money.

Went to The Breakfast Club for the first time ever yesterday. The pancakes were lovely, super fluffy and I loved that I could choose pancakes and then 2 sides either sweet or savoury to go with it. This was the pancake stack with a sausage and hash browns and it cost £13.50.
