Cask ales and hearty British eats are on the menu at The Plough Inn, a tavern with a history stretching back to 1656, conveniently located on Cornmarket Street. This isn't just any pub; it's a spot that blends its historic charm with modern touches, serving everything from traditional pub classics and standout Sunday roasts to generous 14-inch square pizzas. After a period as a tailor's shop, the building was thoughtfully restored and reopened, preserving its heritage while offering a welcoming space for both locals and visitors exploring the city. The inn also features a selection of house lagers, wines, spirits, and a seasonal cocktail menu to accompany your meal or to enjoy on their own.

Its prime location on the corner of Cornmarket and St Michael's Street makes it an ideal pitstop for shoppers and sightseers. Upstairs, 'The Loft' provides a versatile space with views over Cornmarket Street, complete with its own bar and even a shuffleboard for a bit of fun. Whether you're looking for a casual lunch, a satisfying dinner, or a place to gather with friends, this historic pub aims to provide a memorable experience, with options for outdoor seating in the summer months to watch the world go by.

Spent three hours here with a tour group. At the end of our walk, we stopped here for a rest and refreshments. The local beer DEYA was peachy and nice.

This was by far and away the best meal my husband has had while visiting London. He had the trio of roasts and the plate was clean. Maria did an excellent job with all three of them. Our server was also great! I had pizza and it was huge and delicious! Five stars all around!

Good foodThere was 8 of us and we had booked. Had a table upstairs but they didn't open the upstairs bar which was a bit of a faff for so many of us up and down.

Wonderful pub conveniently located walking distance to many tourist attractions.
Plenty of seating options both inside and outside. If those spots are full, you can always try the upper level.
We ate the bread, hummus and olive 🫒 platter. It tasted good but I thought a little short on some of the items.
The staff were friendly and efficient.
A great place to sit and watch the buzz of city life.
