The bartender was very friendly, offering a few recommendations, one of which was a New England–style IPA (where I’m from). I decided to go with a local English lager, which I quite enjoyed. For my meal, I had the West Country bavette steak, which I devoured. As seen in my picture, I devoured this steak, almost forgetting the picture of the steak. I also enjoyed the salad and chips that came with it.
Additionally, I appreciated the overall vibe—being on Cornmarket Street and sitting outside.
Plenty of seating options both inside and outside. If those spots are full, you can always try the upper level.
We ate the bread, hummus and olive 🫒 platter. It tasted good but I thought a little short on some of the items.
The staff were friendly and efficient.
A great place to sit and watch the buzz of city life.
Only thing to keep in mind is you can’t order the specials from the app, so just walk up to the bar to order.
We ordered the fish and chips, steak and ale pie, broccolini, loaded fries, aspall cider and hawkstone cider and they were all absolutely delicious. Lots of kid friendly activities too. my daughter enjoyed going through the wheres wally book
