First time expericing Carribean food and was a bit disappointed; feels like the place is overhyped and the items overpriced. Curry goat was salty (also felt that the meat was pressure cooked rather than slow cooked which they claim), service was quite slow for a Friday (waited almost 45mins for food), missed an item on the order (which they had suggested in the first place) and portion size was just about okay. My partner ordered vegetarian which was good but not worth 18 quid.

Also, prices on the website are misleading (eg. curry goat: website 16.5, actual 20.5).

The positives were that the staff were friendly, we were seated quite quickly and the atmosphere was very nice.

However, all in all, it was not a great experience and I would not be recommending it to a friend.

I had the pleasure of eating at this wonderful Caribbean restaurant and it did not disappoint. The customer service was second to none as all staff were well pleasant, friendly, kind and accommodating. The waiting time for the food was not very long and the flavours popped in your mouth with every bite. The meal was well presented and the aroma matched the flavour. Everything on the plate was very delicious! No doubt, we will revisit this restaurant several more times in the future! Love the vibes, the cleanliness, the characteristics of the staff and of course the sumptuous food! Thank you for the extra treats and for going above and beyond for your customers. It certainly felt like home, in Jamaica. Keep up the great work Spiced Roots!

Had a brilliant time at Spiced Roots. The food is properly authentic—my Jamaican-born mum was genuinely impressed, which says it all.
It was a highlight seeing my 12-year-old try festival for the first time; he loved it so much he ended up stealing some of mine. The staff were fantastic, and they even sorted out a lovely surprise for my birthday, which was a great touch. Definitely try the homemade Guinness ice cream, it’s delicious. Fantastic hospitality from start to finish—we’ll definitely be back.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Great food, great atmosphere, great staff, great place to visit. If you like Caribbean food or would like a change from the usual and you like supporting Independent’s then this place comes highly recommended. I can’t resist the Jerk Chicken with its great flavour and succulent taste. My wife had the meat free Grenadian Run Down which she said was excellent. Everyone there is so friendly and it has a real family feel about it. Backstory On our way to a show at the o2 Academy we were hoping to find this lovely restaurant we remembered visiting the last time we were here. As luck would have it we found it but it was Friday night and we didn’t have a reservation. Unsurprisingly, it was fully booked but we were offered a place to eat by the bar. We explained we were here for a show and wouldn’t be long and were then offered a table that was reserved for a later time.

If you have not yet tried this restaurant make it next on your list!! I have been here for both lunch and evening meal and every time it is amazing. The food the atmosphere and most importantly the staff are the best!!! Big portions for good prices. Shoutout to Melissa for the delicious cocktails too. Really highly recommend.

I came here for my birthday with my family, and the food and service was brilliant. Waitress was very friendly, helpful and attentive. Food was delicious and flavourful with generous portions! We would definitely dine here again ☺️

really delicious food, full of flavour and character and depth! service was great - friendly and quick - especially given it was dinner time on valentine's day, and they were very busy! cocktails were exceptional. would highly recommend! we took our leftovers home (big portions!) and they made a great breakfast the next day :) i forgot to take a picture of our mains because i was distracted by eating it!

Arrived near the end of service and sadly they were out of curry goat but opted for the kingfish instead which was delicious, very fresh and full of flavour.

Partner ordered jerk chicken which again was lovely but sadly extremely small portion. Not sure if this was because it was near the end of service but was expecting a bit more food for the price. Nothing wrong with the quality of the food that was there however.

Amazing food and flavours, and the best cocktails I've had recently. Favourites were the grilled octopus salad, oxtail and ginger cake. We'll be back!
