Tender, flavour-packed momos, delicate steamed dumplings filled with lamb, chicken, or vegetables, are a standout at Yeti Nepalese Restaurant on Cowley Road, often cited by regulars as worth a visit in themselves. This family-run establishment, helmed by Prem and Kabita, offers an intimate and homely atmosphere where diners are treated like old friends. Beyond the popular momos, the menu features a wide array of authentic Nepalese specialities, including Khasi Jhol, a traditional lamb curry, and Swadilo Chicken, a milder tikka dish with a rich tomato, coriander, ginger, and garlic sauce. You can also explore dishes like Timur Chicken, cooked in the typical Nepali style with mustard and Himalayan black pepper, or the popular Masu Gedagudi, which combines tender lamb with black-eyed beans.

The culinary journey continues with an extensive selection that also includes familiar Indian staples, ensuring there's something to satisfy every palate. From fragrant biryanis and tandoori specials like Poleko Machha (marinated salmon tikka) to a variety of vegetarian delights such as Bodi Tama Aloo (black-eyed beans, bamboo shoots, and potatoes), the depth of flavour and fresh ingredients are consistently praised. Seafood lovers can enjoy options like Trishuli Machha, a popular salmon tikka curry with coconut milk, or Rara King Prawn with its distinct Nepalese twist. Complement your meal with traditional breads like garlic naan or chapati, and perhaps a Khukuri beer for an authentic Nepalese experience. The warm welcome and generous portions make Yeti a cherished spot for both newcomers and devoted patrons.

Me and my friend came to visit last night and ordered the dal makhani, garlic naan and vegetable biryani with the raita and it was AMAZING. My friend is indian herself and said it was the closest to authentic indian food in the whole of Oxford. The service was amazing, the food was top notch, we will definitely be coming back!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a Nepalese restaurant, and the experience left a lasting impression. The vibrant flavors and aromatic spices in each dish showcased the rich culinary heritage of Nepal. The momo dumplings were a standout, perfectly steamed and filled with a delicious blend of spices. The traditional Dal Bhat offered a satisfying combination of lentils, rice, and a variety of side dishes, providing a hearty and authentic taste. The attentive service and cozy ambiance added to the overall enjoyment. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delightful journey through Nepalese cuisine.

Overall the staff were nice and felt we could get service quite quickly.

As we came in there werw not a lot of people in the restaurant but they decided to sat us quite close to the door (which was open all night) and we were sat next to another table. I felt that it would have been nicer to have a bit more private space then to be put right next to another group.

We got onion bhaji for the starter which was ok but the vegetables around it looked a bit dry. We got two curries with a number 21 and 28? And the waiter recommended the garlic naan and mushroom rice which the mushroom rice was not on the menu.

The curries were lovely but the chicken was overcooked and very dry. The mushroom rice was lovely but wish it was on the menu. Garlic naan was quite oily and wouldn’t really recommend it.
Overall it was a nice experience but sadly I dont think I will be back.

We used to live in Nepal and were so excited to enjoy some delicious Momoa. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We weren't terribly hungry and mainly wanted momo but couldn't resist adding a few other dishes. They were also very good, but the momos were definitely the highlight!
