This Greene King establishment is known for its all-day comfort food, a good selection of real ales including its popular house brew Obscurity, and beers from local craft breweries. Following a six-figure refurbishment, the pub boasts a fresh teal and green interior, a new bar, and an upgraded, dog-friendly beer garden complete with heating and outdoor TVs, making it a pleasant spot for an evening drink. Inside, the atmosphere is described as relaxing yet vibrant, retaining a bohemian charm that regulars have come to love, with friendly and attentive staff ensuring a comfortable visit. It's a popular choice for watching live sports on the big screens and also hosts acoustic Thursday evenings.

Walton Street itself is home to the Phoenix Picturehouse, an independent art house cinema, numerous unique shops like Daisies florist and Branca Delicatessen, and a variety of restaurants and cocktail bars. The pub is child-friendly and offers options for various dietary needs, including vegetarian and gluten-free choices.

I took my two daughters out to this restaurant this evening. We were tossing around a couple of different options that were close to our Airbnb.

The atmosphere was created by and filled with locals the service although you had to order at the bar, it was delivered by the waitress. Very friendly very engaging. It’s a place where you feel good about eating.

I ordered the fish and chips and they were delicious. More fish than chips, but that was fine as well. The food was hot when it came to your table. Now both of my girls enjoyed their meals as well. I did sample the rice and it was very tasty.

Always been a fan of Greene King pubs. As they are always presented well inside and out.

Steak and Ale Pie was absolutely delicious and very filling, highly recommend. Dog friendly, have dog water bowls and treats. Asked for an individual burger for her, not a problem. Great staff.

Great street full of restaurants. Cafes and other pubs
