Details

A huge wood-fired pizza oven is the heart of Sartorelli's, a vibrant pizzeria nestled within Oxford's historic Covered Market. Since opening in March 2022, they've served over 77,000 customers, quickly gaining a reputation for delicious, handcrafted sourdough pizzas. The aroma of baking dough and fresh ingredients fills their corner of the market, which has been a hub for independent traders for 250 years. Sartorelli's embraces this tradition, even allowing customers to bring toppings from neighbouring market stalls to personalise their pizzas. This unique approach, combined with their commitment to quality, earned them a TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Award in 2023. The atmosphere is bustling and welcoming, with limited indoor seating offering a view of the pizza-making action.

You'll find Sartorelli's at Unit 21 of the Covered Market, Oxford, OX1 3DZ. Their menu features classics like the Margherita, alongside more adventurous options such as the "Jack the Ripper" with triple pepperoni, mozzarella, spinach, red pepper, and garlic, or "Big John's Calzone". They also offer vegan choices and garlic bread, with prices for main pizzas generally ranging from £8 to £15. The emphasis is on fresh, local ingredients and the ability to "tailor" your pizza to your liking, true to their name, as 'sartorelli' means small tailor. While seating is limited, the experience of enjoying a freshly baked pizza amidst the lively sounds and sights of the market is part of Sartorelli's charm, making it a popular lunch spot for students and locals alike.

Freshly made pizza's in the covered market in Oxford. They are cooked in a proper pizza oven so you get the lovely crispy base and crust. Good selection of cold drinks also on offer. You can get the pizza to take away or eat in. Service was quick, eventhough it was busy.

My quest for the best pizza in Oxford continues. Sartorelli’s is a small outlet in the Oxford covered market and hence has to cope with the limited opening hours allowed. This is a wood fired pizza and is cooked fast and furious. This makes it hard to juggle burnt to a crisp and raw. I had a calzone and it was slightly under done hence the four starts not five. I like my pizza light and thin and this suited my taste more than BBuona. My wife prefers BBuona. Myself the other way around. So far it is a draw between Oxfords top two rated Pizza restaurants. It is a great option If you want an early dinner or lunch. Seating is mostly shared and you can get a drink from either the beer or wine shops next door. It has a nice atmosphere with sitting outside but still inside vibe.

Excellent pizzas made to order in the open kitchen. Great value and very tasty. Had the "Jack the Ripper" and Margherita pizzas.

Where better to celebrate National Pizza Day than at the best little pizzeria in Oxford. We love the fresh dough, great toppings and the fact that they easily cater for the 2 dairy free members of our family. What’s more the prices are incredibly reasonable for super generous portions. Today we ordered a plain pepperoni, a Jack the Ripper, a super vegan and brucetta. The staff are really friendly and my children think it’s really yummy

Best and also most affordable pizza in Oxford, anyone that comes to the covered market should definitely give it a go !! The dough is amazing and the service is very quick, max 10 minutes of waiting. The staff is very welcoming and nice. There are lots of options and topping available, just perfect for a quick bite in the market :)
