I've used 001 a few times and it's good when it works well. Last night I booked a cab from Cholsey station for 00:05 and the booking was confirmed. After 5 phone calls, each time assuring me the cab was 8, 5, 2 minutes away I eventually found another cab company at 00:40. Basically confirmed means nothing from 001 - the app needs to say dispatched. Not sure why they can't be honest and say there's nothing available. That would avoid a woman waiting alone at the station for nearly an hour at midnight.

We booked a taxi and were told it would be 20 minutes maybe sooner, after waiting at the end of the road for 45 minutes I rang to see where they were. Only to be told they had no record of our booking. No opology given, but he said if we wanted to book again there was actually a driver close by that would be with us within 10 minutes, so I booked again. After another 45 minutes we had given up and were walking away when the taxi finally arrived. Again no apology or discount. The driver himself was nice but we wasted 90 minutes of our day waiting at the end of the road, (we were staying at a campsite) for a 15 minute journey which left us feeling very frustrated.

Mohammed arrived promptly, and phoned to tell where he was waiting. His driving was excellent. I like the way I can track the taxi as it arrives - especially good when you have to be at an appointment or when you are starting a journey and need to catch a bus or flight on time.

Excellent service for a long emergency trip, which had a few changes mid drive! Fantastic company and our driver (unfortunately can't access his name anymore) could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Will always use when in the Oxford area.

My step dad is blind and regularly travels alone. His independence is maintained by use of taxis and the assistance service provided by the train network. On this occasion the taxi driver was very reluctant to take him, saying he couldn’t escort him into the station as they had to just drop and go. In the end he did agree but after making my step dad feel very uncomfortable. This is something my step dad has done many times and it has never been a problem. I did put on the booking that he was blind. It would be good if 001 could ensure their drivers are appropriately trained/informed before taking a job with special requirements.
