Unit 2 at the Oxford Eco Centre is home to Jericho Coffee Traders' roastery, where you can delve into the world of coffee with their highly-rated Coffee Enthusiast Experience. These hands-on, three-hour courses run on Sundays and are designed for all coffee lovers, offering a chance to explore a variety of coffees, understand sourcing and roasting processes, and learn diverse brewing methods. You'll get to taste how the roast and bean variety impact flavour, and even participate in a "cupping" (professional tasting) session. With small class sizes, the experience is intimate and personal, ensuring plenty of interaction.

Beyond just tasting, you’ll discover the journey of coffee from bean to cup, including how Jericho Coffee Traders work with suppliers to ensure fair farmer compensation and what defines "speciality" coffee. The sessions often include complimentary coffee and pastries upon arrival, and you might even go home with a bag of your favourite coffee from the tasting. Their matcha, unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst matcha I’ve ever had in the UK. The barista didn’t even mix it properly—I had to stir it myself after receiving it! Even after that, the taste was still off. It was either low-quality matcha or poorly prepared, leaving a bitter and unpleasant aftertaste. I won’t be returning here again.
