Situated on Saint Michael's Street, Ecclesia Tours offers a distinctive way to experience Oxford's profound Christian and literary heritage. Their guided walking tours, typically lasting around two hours, are led by knowledgeable guides, many of whom are postgraduate alumni or current students at the University of Oxford. These experts combine in-depth historical understanding with engaging storytelling, bringing the city's past to life. You can walk in the footsteps of influential figures such as William Tyndale, John Wycliffe, C.S. Lewis, and the Oxford Martyrs – Thomas Cranmer, Nicholas Ridley, and Hugh Latimer – visiting sites pivotal to their lives and the movements they inspired. The tours also highlight locations where the King James Bible was meticulously translated and where the Methodist movement, with John and Charles Wesley, took root.
Beyond the standard tourist trails, Ecclesia Tours aims to provide a more enriching experience, delving into stories and insights often missed on self-guided or free tours. Groups are intentionally kept small, with a maximum of 20 people, to ensure a personalised and immersive journey for everyone. This approach allows for a deeper connection with Oxford's rich history and the significant events that unfolded within its ancient streets and university colleges. The company also offers the flexibility of private and custom tours, allowing visitors to tailor their exploration to specific historical themes or preferred locations, ensuring a memorable and insightful visit to this iconic city. Tours are family-friendly, with children aged five and under able to join for free.

Who have gone to Oxford throughout its history. We learned about the reformation and even earlier history. Alberto was our guide and we loved him! I would recommend this tour if you want to see the inside of some of the colleges and hear how the school is structured and hear about the great men of faith throughout the years in Oxford. It’s worth it!!!
