At 27 Broad Street, Oxford, you'll find Blackwell's Art and Poster Shop, a specialist branch of the renowned Blackwell's, which first opened its doors on this historic street in 1879. This dedicated art haven is situated a short walk from the main Blackwell's bookshop and is uniquely the only one of its kind in the country. The shop resides in the distinctive sandstone-coloured Thomas Wood building, designed by Brett & Pollen, and even features an Antony Gormley "Iron Man" sculpture on its roof, adding to the artistic allure of the location. Inside, visitors can explore an extensive collection of art-related books, covering diverse interests from expressionism and origami to film and anime.

The shop is thoughtfully organised across two levels to cater to a variety of artistic and literary tastes. Its mezzanine level is dedicated to a vast array of art books and related gifts, while the lower level offers a broader selection, including a notable collection of Manga and Graphic Novels, featuring popular Marvel & DC titles. Here, you will also discover an abundance of posters, art prints, postcards, greeting cards, diaries, calendars, and other stationery items, making it an ideal spot for finding unique souvenirs or decorations. The shop was clean and modern. A large array of books. A great manga section and a board game section. Really nice print designs too. Unfortunately I didn’t buy anything because it was so expensive, much more than I thought it would be and I don’t think it’s worth it. The prints are of artwork you can find easily online. It was also extremely busy so I could hardly look at anything or squeeze past people.
