Situated on Park End Street, Oxford Railway Station has been a significant arrival point since the current site first opened in 1852, replacing an earlier terminus at Grandpont. Today, it’s managed by Great Western Railway and serves as a key interchange with connections to London Paddington, London Marylebone, Manchester, Birmingham, and coastal destinations in the south. The station currently features four platforms, with facilities including ATMs, refreshment kiosks, shops like WHSmith and M&S Simply Food, and Wi-Fi. Extensive redevelopment work is underway, part of the Oxford Corridor Phase 2 project, aiming to increase capacity with a new track and platform, a secondary western entrance, and improved layouts for buses, cyclists, and pedestrians. These enhancements are designed to accommodate more passenger and freight trains, including future East West Rail services.
Navigating your way from Oxford Railway Station is straightforward, with the city centre just a short 5-10 minute walk away. Immediately outside, you'll find a taxi rank and bus stops for onward travel, including the popular open-topped City Sightseeing tours which offer a great overview of Oxford's iconic landmarks. For those preferring to explore on foot or by bike, the station offers cycle storage and hire options. Nearby attractions easily accessible include the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford Castle, and the historic Bodleian Libraries, all within a mile. The station itself is undergoing a major transformation to improve services and create a more welcoming gateway to the city, though this has involved significant local works, including on Botley Road. Despite the ongoing upgrades, Oxford station remains a bustling hub, ready to connect you to the heart of this historic city and the surrounding Oxfordshire countryside.

There are only 4 Platforms at this station. Platform 3 is in front of you as you enter and is quite busy.
Platforms 1 and 2 are on the right as you enter (just past the bridge) and not as busy.
Platform 4 is opposite Platform 3 and is accessible via lift, there is a lift up to the footbridge and down to Platform 4.
Remember, if you need extra assistance, remember to ask staff who will be happy to help!
Extra info:
Parking Places on Right of Station (Meduim Sized)
Large Bike Place, but it's always rammed (You always have to couple up with someone else on one of the Stands)
Toilets located on Platform 4 (Quite small and will be hard for wheelchair accessiblity)

Other than that it’s a clean and relatively well maintained station, there are toilets, there is a service desk which works during the day, there are also shops for snacks and the staff is kind.
It’s 3 stars on this occasion, because not being able to charge your phone or device is just not serious and has to be addressed. That being said I’m happy to change it to 4 or 5 stars as soon as this is sorted as it shouldn’t be too difficult.
Plenty of food and drink outlets.
Clean
Toilets available.
Ticket machines as well as ticket desks.
Customer services desk where noone came to assist us. We spoke to the staff member the other side of the barrier.
Other than that a typical train station.
