Details

New Ground on Ship Street hosts Oxford Life Drawing sessions every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evening from 6pm to 8pm, offering a welcoming space for anyone looking to engage with their creative side. These relaxed and untutored classes provide a fantastic opportunity for both complete beginners and more experienced artists to practice and develop their skills in a friendly environment. All the necessary drawing boards and a wide variety of art equipment are supplied, though you're more than welcome to bring your own preferred tools if you wish to experiment. The sessions feature a model holding a variety of short and long nude poses, with a 15-minute break in the middle, allowing time to perhaps grab a drink from the bar to enjoy while you draw.

Centrally located in the heart of Oxford, these life drawing evenings are easy to join and have fostered a growing artistic community. Tickets are priced at an affordable £7 and can be purchased via the City Life Drawing website; however, if online tickets happen to be sold out, don't be deterred as there are usually tickets available on the door. It’s a good idea to arrive a little before the 6pm start time to get settled, especially as latecomers may not always be accommodated. Whether you're looking to try something new, hone your artistic talents, or simply enjoy a creative and social evening, Oxford Life Drawing offers an accessible and enjoyable experience for all.

Brilliant classes. So glad I discovered them to get me back into life drawing. Centrally located. Relaxed atmosphere. Expert models giving great poses. Every week there's an inspiring variety of styles and techniques on display. Worth following on Instagram too, to get even more inspiration.
