Details

At 5 Lincoln House on Market Street, you'll find the enchanting studio of Kina Gorska, the designer-maker behind Kina Ceramics. Here, she transforms fine English bone china and stoneware, sourced from historic Stoke-on-Trent, into contemporary porcelain tableware designed to surprise, intrigue, and bring a smile to your face. Kina masterfully employs traditional slip-casting techniques, adapting factory production processes to her small-scale studio, allowing for the creation of visually pleasing shapes often inspired by natural forms. Many pieces are adorned with genuine gold or platinum, adding a touch of luxury to the exclusive, handcrafted designs. Her distinctive collections, including Mugs with Fingers, Melting Candle Holders, and the Alice Tea Set, showcase her true artistry and make for unique additions to any home interior.

Each item at Kina Ceramics tells a story, reflecting Kina's journey from a childhood fascination with ceramics, through her studies at the Academy of Art and Design, to establishing her own Oxford studio. Her work in bone china is particularly noteworthy; though a challenging material, it rewards with its elegance, high level of whiteness, and remarkable translucency. Visitors can discover a whole range of these distinctive products, from quirky mugs and monster figurines to Kintsugi-style cups and one-of-a-kind jewellery, all meticulously handcrafted by Kina herself. The studio also offers the possibility of bespoke ceramics, allowing you to commission a truly personal piece or unique corporate gift.

I've been searching for handmade & UK made Kinitsugi. I stumbled across it in Oxford at Kina Ceramics. Was a lovely modern shop, full of great ceramics. Would definitely recommend a browse, even just to see artisan products.

The service was really good too.
