Walton Street's own Raoul's Bar, a fixture in Oxford since 1979 and revitalised in 1999, stands as a testament to the art of cocktail making. This intimate, award-winning bar has collected numerous accolades over the years, even earning a spot as one of the top 50 bars in the world by The Sunday Times. Renowned for its phenomenal drinks and the sheer volume of fresh fruit used daily, Raoul's prides itself on a high-quality, passionate service delivered by professional bartenders. The retro-styled space, spread over multiple levels, offers a cosy and welcoming, if sometimes wonderfully cramped, atmosphere where the focus is firmly on serious cocktails and a fun, relaxed experience. It's a place where the extensive spirits selection, with a notable emphasis on rum, is skillfully transformed into consistently faultless drinks.
Step into this Jericho institution and prepare to be captivated by a multi-paged menu brimming with inventive concoctions, from flips and sours to their own unique 'All Stars'. While the sheer choice might seem overwhelming at first, the knowledgeable staff are on hand to guide you through their impressive repertoire, which includes house-made syrups and bitters. Raoul's isn't just about the award-winning classics and creative new mixes; it's about the entire experience – the stylish decor, the good music, and the surprisingly unpretentious clientele. Whether you're a seasoned cocktail enthusiast eager to explore their vast liquor collection or a newcomer looking for a perfectly crafted drink, Raoul's delivers an unforgettable night out, with cocktail classes also occasionally available for those wishing to learn from the best.

Night one highlights: a crisp Japanese whiskey highball, a rich Boulavardier, and a smooth New York Sour. We couldn’t stay away, so we returned for round two. The Last Word, Closing Argument, Japanese Slipper, and Daisy de Santiago were all standouts.
Olly and the crew made both nights memorable. Raoul’s is definitely raising the bar. We’ll be back again soon.
