Details

Nestled within a collection of elegant Victorian villas in the tranquil Norham Manor conservation area, Kellogg College offers a unique Oxford experience. Founded in 1990, it stands as the university's largest and most international graduate college, fostering a vibrant global community with students from around 100 countries. The college is deeply committed to lifelong learning and was a pioneer in offering part-time study options, allowing many to pursue Oxford degrees while continuing their professional careers. Its main site at 60-62 Banbury Road is open to visitors on weekdays, free of charge, allowing a glimpse into its dynamic academic life and beautiful grounds. The college also boasts a modern, eco-friendly Hub building, the first Passivhaus-certified project at the University of Oxford, which serves as a common room and café.

Kellogg College's four-acre site features a series of interconnected gardens designed to promote wellbeing and biodiversity. Internationally renowned landscape designer Andy Sturgeon has been involved in a masterplan to unify these green spaces, creating a blend of areas for socialising, study, and quiet contemplation, while respecting the site's rich heritage. Visitors can anticipate a welcoming courtyard, a woodland approach along Banbury Road with accessible pathways, and a central lawn framed by seating and biodiverse borders. The college frequently hosts a variety of events, including public seminars, book launches, and creative writing competition finales, many of which are open to the public and often free to attend. With its blend of historic architecture, modern sustainable design, and thoughtfully curated gardens, Kellogg College presents a forward-thinking institution within a classic Oxford setting.

A cute Oxford college on the north side of Oxford city centre.

Kellogg has a beautiful garden - it’s a perfect time to visit now!

Their brunch is amazing and very reasonably priced (~£8 / person). Only served on weekends during Oxford term time.

The chef from the hub cafe, Grant, is very friendly and helpful!

This is the most welcoming college that I know. As a very new college, it will not appeal to tourists, but there is a great coffee shop in the grounds that is open to all. Kellogg is a postgraduate college so the student cohort older and many tend to be working alongside study. While it lacks library facilities and public space, it makes up for with social events. The staff are lovely and make the place feel very inclusive.
