Details

Spanning an impressive 42 hectares, Cutteslowe and Sunnymead Park stands as Oxford's largest green expanse, offering a diverse range of activities for all ages. Here, families can delight in the charming Cutteslowe Park Miniature Railway, operational on select dates from April to October and even featuring a wheelchair-accessible carriage. Three distinct children's play areas, a skate park, and a seasonal splash park provide ample entertainment for younger visitors. For those seeking a more active outing, the park boasts numerous sports facilities, including tennis courts, table tennis, football and cricket pitches, and even beach volleyball courts. Ornamental flower beds and wildflower areas add a touch of natural beauty to this Green Flag Award-winning park.

Beyond the play equipment and sports, Cutteslowe and Sunnymead Park offers opportunities for leisurely pursuits and community engagement. Visitors can explore the community woodland and Sunnymead nature area, or embark on an orienteering course with maps available from the park's kiosk. The park also hosts a weekly 5k parkrun and various community events throughout the year, such as the Balloons and Tunes festival and the Cutteslowe Light Trail. With a café on site for refreshments and the Cutteslowe Greenhouse project fostering community growing, the park truly serves as a vibrant hub for both recreation and local involvement. The two distinct sections of the park, Cutteslowe to the north and Sunnymead to the south (once a council tip and wasteland), were connected by a bridge in 2002.

This is an absolutely brilliant park. It's really big and has a pond, play area, mini golf, sports field, and even a railway. I'd highly recommend it! Perfect day out with kids especially if you pick a day when the train is running

An amazing park with loads to do. In summer on a Sunday there's a mini train ride. Other than that it is free tennis courts, basketball, adventure playground, normal playground and wet pools. Lots of space to bring a ball or frisbee for free play. A gym, a cafe and in summer an ice cream van. Easy to use with a wheelchair in summer and keep to paths in wet weather.

My only criticism of the park is on exit you enter the A road with virtually no lead up. So pretty scary!

A lovely place to enjoy on the sunshine 🌞 I met a friend and her 2 little ones. They were very happy in the park and sand pit. Didnt venture to the splash pad on this occasion but lots of families having fun. A little food outlet, slightly pricey- so take a picnic and then enjoy an ice cream or cold drink. A great place to meet up with family and friends. Beautiful gardens and pond area with plenty of benches. Easy to park and not expensive. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again.
