Donnington Arms offers a distinct blend of traditional British pub charm and vibrant Nepalese culinary artistry, standing as a beloved neighbourhood local on Howard Street. This classic 1930s corner pub maintains its original layout, featuring period details like fireplaces and a dedicated public bar area. The atmosphere is unpretentious and inviting, encouraging guests to linger and enjoy the genuine character of the place.
The venue houses the Everest Nepalese Restaurant and Bar, serving up a highly regarded Nepalese cuisine. Patrons can enjoy fresh and flavourful curries, noodle dishes, and other Nepalese specialities, which are prepared with fewer spices than typical Indian fare. The food is consistently described as well-considered and of excellent quality, with many appreciating the fresh, crisp ingredients used.
This establishment caters well to a diverse clientele, from locals enjoying casual drinks to those seeking a quality meal. It provides a comfortable setting for a relaxed evening, equally suited for a spontaneous visit in everyday attire or a more planned dining experience. The Donnington Arms proves ideal for gatherings where guests might appreciate both a traditional pub environment and an acclaimed Nepalese dining experience under one roof.

A modern, airy, light and spacious dining area with fully operative air conditioning that provides a very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere for a memorable dining experience.
Having also ordered a home delivery on occasions, I have never known a takeaway to be sealed with such hygienic care and attention.
Parking has always been an issue here because of the surrounding residential parking restrictions. The new LTN hasn't made any real difference as a result.
Will definitely go back and would recommend for the resturant and takeaway.
I took with me my little Cavalier King Charles spaniel and although the weather could have been kinder to us, we still enjoyed ourselves. John introduced me to the Nepalese cuisine at the Donnington Arms, which was a most pleasant experience. The treat was further enhanced as the owner very kindly allowed me to bring my little dog with me, which was extremely courteous of him. We ate in the bar area and very much enjoyed both the food and the company of the staff. The Nepalese cuisine was a new experience for me and one which I can thoroughly recommend. The establishment was clean and the food was presented well, the combinationof flavours was a treat to my taste buds. I was so impressed with my first taste of their food and wonderful hospitality that I asked if we could return the following evening to sample a different dish, which we were able to do. Both meals which I enjoyed here were first class and the staff were most polite and friendly. Well done to you all, I shall look forward to more of the same when I next visit Oxford.
