I WISH I READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE ORDERING. I ordered the egusi soup and pounded yam on uber eats. I was really excited after seeing influencers hype it up on social media and I’d never tried egusi or pounded yam before. Maybe it just wasn’t to my taste but my opinion is the food was terrible - the egusi soup had a bitter aftertaste to it and absolutely no flavour and no spice at all. The tiny portion was a joke. The egusi container was typical takeaway container size and was half empty which at £14.50 was unacceptable. Not that this mattered because I couldn’t eat it anyway. The menu describes egusi as beef with assorted meats. There was ONLY 1 SMALL PIECE OF BEEF MEAT in the dish. The rest was un-chewable chunks of what looked like an animal tongue or the inside of an intestine/tripe. See pictures. I felt sick eating this and I couldn’t stomach the texture of the tongue/tripe. The pounded yam was okay but very overpriced at £5.99 too - really such a staple side dish should be included in the cost of the main in my opinion. I will not be ordering again.

Food arrived quickly
The single piece of beef in the dish was tender

I came here with my friend to relax and wait for other group to come. We ordered two bottles of Afro Fanta Orange, The Bar waiter told us it was very popular with customers. To our surprised we were charged £6 each. 2bottles =£12. I have never spend so much for a sugary soft drink. A quick 2mins walk down local Asian shops on the same street, I would get this for less than that. Just avoid this place. Also, the TV at the back sitting lounge was so loud we couldn’t hear each other properly. Furthermore, A lady came randomly carrying food on her hand asking if we ordered something. Why don’t they
have numbers on the table?.

Although the price of the nkwobi was fair, I will give the taste 2/10. I will suggest that the restaurant stick to what they can prepare or learn to prepare local dishes well before selling it.

The fried plantain was good, but frying plantain is quite simple.

After a long day moving house in the heat, we were hoping for a hearty meal. We ordered jollof rice, egusi with fufu, and pepper soup. The jollof? Meh - bland and stingy on the portion. The egusi? V.oily but full of flavour - honestly the star of the show.

But then came the meat situation. Each dish had one real piece of meat. The rest? .. Unchewable slabs of skin and fat masquerading as food (pictured) - the disrespect. I get that cow skin is a thing but this one clearly missed its softening appointment.

Atmosphere-wise, the music was club-level loud. We couldn't hear the staff, and they couldn’t hear us. Cleanliness was questionable (sticky tables), and the vibe among staff was more house party than hospitality.

I won’t be back, but shoutout to the egusi for carrying the whole night. 2/5 for that alone.

Just been refurbished - looks far brighter inside than the outside signage suggests.

Had Puff Puff and beans, which was really good (basically sliced banana + Kidney beans).
Also a Magnum drink - somewhere between an energy drink and vodka & coke.

Barman and waiter were friendly and was a great atmosphere. Some photos attached... to share their Good vibes. 😉
