Jee Saheb offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, nestled discreetly on North Parade Avenue in Oxford, a charming street often compared to Notting Hill. This family-run establishment, boasting over 50 years of experience, provides a cosy and quiet setting for a proper dinner service, complete with linen on the tables. The bright and modern décor respectfully maintains its South Asian roots, creating a sense of pride within its walls, making it a secluded and casual spot that stands out from the bustling city centre.
The restaurant specialises in carefully prepared Bangladeshi and Indian cuisine, offering a comprehensive Anglo-Indian repertoire alongside both traditional and modern dishes. Diners can explore an extensive menu featuring tandoori grilled meats, freshly made samosas, and bhajis, with lamb dishes like the Rogan Josh and slow-cooked lamb biryani being particularly recommended by regulars. Notable culinary highlights include the tangy Bengali street food, Chotpoti, succulent Ajwani salmon, and tender lamb chops, all accompanied by freshly baked naan breads, such as the sweet Peshwari or a garlic and chilli variety. To complement the meal, a selection of wines, champagnes, and beers are available.
Jee Saheb is a versatile choice, perfect for a range of occasions from intimate romantic evenings and anniversaries to lively family reunions or casual gatherings with friends. With its welcoming staff and refined food, it caters beautifully to those seeking exceptional service and a relaxed dining experience. Whether you are a curry connoisseur or simply looking for a delightful meal in a pleasant setting, this establishment is well-suited for anyone appreciating authentic flavours and a friendly atmosphere.

The tea came with some sweets which was appreciated, even though we couldn't get the chai (kitchen was too busy for that!!) sitting outside was lovely, next door doing jazz on a Sunday night was really nice. We were happy, but it could've been better with the service. We sat for twenty minutes when we arrived with nothing... No one coming... No water.
