I tried the chicken soup and the chicken fried rice. The soup itself tasted good, but the chicken had a strong smell and seemed undercooked, which made it difficult to eat. The chicken fried rice also had an unpleasant smell.

The waiter kept encouraging me to order more food even though I only wanted one item, which made me feel uncomfortable.

I’ve had much better Thai food elsewhere. Unfortunately, this was not a good experience for me.

😡I went there today around 9:30 pm they said only takeaways, I ordered spicy Thai Noodles, which Is my usual order. My Spice tolerance is Very good. the noodles they packed me was absolutely inedible. It was full of chopped red chilies and less of noodles. I am completely disappointed and upset because that was supposed to be my first proper meal of the day after a long day of seeing patients . And I couldn’t eat it, instead it burned my throat and stomach so much that I couldn’t sleep because of the pain. In the picture it is not very clear but it was all chilli bits. (I tried to put aside the bigger bits but the chilli seeds were so much that it was impossible to separate and eat). If its near closing time, just dont take the orders! Why would you make food which cant be eaten! How do you plan to compensate this? I used to be a regular customer there but I am absolutely disappointed.

This place has been my go to Thai restaurant in Oxford, great food, fair price and good portion sizes. Also, great location in central Oxford whilst tucked in Gloucester Green in comparison to other chain Thai places in George Street. It doesn’t disappoint, would highly recommend. One thing to also note, they do charge you 50p for a take away container if you eat in and decide to take food away, which to me is fair enough being an independent local restaurant.

The texture of the suki-yaki noodles was really nice and the portion was huge. The Hainan chicken rice (available on Thursdays only) was great, the chicken was very tender. It came with chicken soup that was comforting as well.

I had a great experience at Angrid Thai restaurant! The portion sizes were generous, making it a good value for the price. One standout dish was the beef salad—it was absolutely delicious and a must-try for anyone visiting. The flavors were perfectly balanced and the beef was tender and flavorful.

The iced teas were also a highlight, especially the coffee flavour, which was rich, smooth, and refreshing. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick bite or a full meal, this place offers satisfying food and drinks that hit the spot.
