The cuisine at Pompette is rooted in bourgeois French cooking, with seasonal menus crafted from high-quality, fresh ingredients, alongside occasional European influences. Dishes are prepared with care and passion, aiming for "perfect balance" in every creation. Notable offerings include sautéed lamb's sweetbreads, richly flavoured beef onglet, and a much-loved Kirsch choux bun with Griottines and warm chocolate sauce. Every dish was presented beautifully on their signature branded plates. The steak was cooked to perfection and paired wonderfully with the fresh watercress. We also shared a lovely bottle of 1996 Chateau Margaux, which made the evening feel extra memorable.
Everything was consistent, delicious, and deeply satisfying. We are already looking forward to our next visit.
The service was friendly and flawless. Really set the tone for the meal being greeted by a warm welcoming host.
Not the cheapest but I'm happy to pay for quality food and service. Next time I'm down Oxford I'll be sure to go back.
I have never come across such disrespect from a restaurant that is on the Michelin guide. Poor wine service was just a tip of the iceberg. There were also NO APOLOGIES given and they still charged us for the corkage and service fees after all of this. Just completely ruined the mood for the occasion. Well done.
