I took my date there tonight and was impressed with the depth of their menu. For starters, we ordered the Harrira soup, Zaalouk, and Merguez. All were excellent. She got the Chicken Tagine, and I got my favorite—Bastilla. Without exaggeration, I can say I've not had a better Bastilla outside of the Maghreb. The crust was crispy, well dusted with powdered sugar, moist, and generously layered. It's thick, and I was given a steak knife for it, which was much appreciated. We finished with mint tea and some baklava.
It was the best meal we had in Oxford, and it will definitely be my first stop should I return.
We highly recommend Le Kesh, and we hope to come back again next time we're in Oxford!
