The food was not to the standard we expected for the amount of money we paid. My partner ordered the mixed grill. The gammon was tough, the chicken was mushy, and the mushroom and tomato were burnt and inedible. He also had to ask for the peppercorn sauce as it was not provided with the meal. When it arrived, the sauce was watery, lacked flavour, and contained no peppercorns. Due to the lack of flavour, he ended up adding pepper himself. The only part of the meal he enjoyed was the steak, which was cooked to his preference.
I ordered the “Ultimate Burger”, which was listed as a favourite. Unfortunately, it was bland and dry, and tasted like a frozen beef burger. The menu stated that it came with cheese sauce, but there was only a tiny amount on the burger. The side salad was also disappointing, with yellow lettuce that tasted sour.
We also ordered a side of garlic bread, which cost £5.50 for just two slices. This seemed like a ridiculous price, especially when the mac and cheese cost only £3.00.
Overall, we were really disappointed. This was an expensive dinner, and we felt the quality of the food was very poor and did not justify the price.
