Quiet but great vibes. I had lunch here and was very pleased. Sushi options are simple and somewhat few by comparison to some other places, however the fish was so fresh and prepared so well, it became the best sushi I've had in months! I had the miso soup, salmon Nigiri (it melted like butter and was so fresh) and the spicy tuna roll. All great!

Really enjoyed our lunch at Taberu. The portion of unagi rice was impressively large, nicely cooked and full of flavour. The ramen stood out too, with a thicker broth than usual which made it feel quite hearty.

Everything was presented beautifully, and the staff were lovely, friendly, attentive and provided excellent service throughout. Would happily go back.

We visited Taberu in January and had a wonderful experience. The ramen was absolutely delicious – perfectly balanced broth with great depth of flavor. The crispy prawn uramaki was a standout too, with excellent contrast between the crispy texture and fresh ingredients. The quality of the food really impressed us, and it’s clear why Taberu has become a go-to spot for Japanese cuisine in Oxford. We’ll definitely be back!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Visiting Oxford for the day, we stumbled across this restaurant on our way home. We were initially seated by the front door and asked if we could move. We were told we could, but the table would be needed back within an hour, so we decided to stay where we were.
Five minutes later, we were delighted to be told there had been a cancellation and asked if we’d still like to move 🥳🥳🥳
The food was excellent and the service superb. Would highly recommend .
