The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and the service from Amir was excellent throughout: attentive, thoughtful and unhurried.
Shiraz offers something a little different in Oxford, and I would certainly recommend it to anyone interested in Persian food and hospitality.
Not sure how people give this restaurant high reviews, the quality of the food is poor.
The starters were fine, but the mains were unacceptable. The kebabs were greasy, and the lamb chops were clearly off—they had a strong, unpleasant smell and were not edible. All four of us at the table noticed the same issue and raised it with management, but our concerns were dismissed and we were told the food was fine.
Instead of replacing the mains, they only offered extra side dishes, which didn’t address the problem at all. By that point, we had completely lost our appetite.
They gave complimentary baklava at the end, but that doesn’t make up for serving questionable food or the way the complaint was handled.
Would not recommend and definitely won’t be returning.
I m not a vegetarian, but that day I just wanted a vegetarian food! I never imagined that vegetarian food could be cooked so delicious till I ve tried the Shiraz veg.dishes. Superb!!! As a drink, I gave up coffee and I ve enjoyed a glass of Real yogurt with rose petals, slightly lemon juiced....Wonderful taste😋 The restaurant is simple and very nice decorated in the traditional old Persian style, with few tables outside and greens around. All the people around looked very happy and friendly, some with huge Grill platters on their tables, looking gorgeous 😍 😋. Clara, the waitress was absolutely Amazing, friendly, full of patience, explaining me all the dishes. The food was brought fast, even the restaurant was packed, being the lunch time.
I left her a tip from whole my heart. I never understood people who afford to spend a lot of money for food or other things, but they complain to give a tip to a person who s working hard to make their life better!
I ve recommended this restaurant to many of my friends, sharing my great experience. Some had lunch, some had dinner there, but all of them were extremely happy with the food ( quality and quantity)and the service, praising especially Clara😀

Beyond the food, the staff were warm and attentive without being intrusive, and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant was welcoming and comfortable. It's clear a lot of care goes into both the cooking and the service here. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a satisfying, well-prepared meal in a pleasant setting. We'll definitely be back!
