The Dirtboys was absolutely delicious, and the portions were very generous. We really enjoyed our meal and had a wonderful experience.

The atmosphere was nice although very loud inside. We were seated quickly but we had booked in advance. There was a queue of people waiting otherwise.
Unfortunately the food just didn’t live up to the hype or the price.
We started with the garlic parmesan chicken tenders which were honestly tasteless. They just tasted empty with barely any garlic or parmesan flavour coming through.
The buffalo wings were also disappointing. They were supposedly twice fried but had no crisp at all and the chicken itself lacked flavour. The buffalo sauce tasted watered down and bland. The best part was genuinely the blue cheese dip because it actually added some taste.
The chicken burger had very little flavour too. Honestly you’d get more taste from a KFC burger for a fraction of the price. Even the cheese was barely noticeable.
The beef burger was dry as well. I know smashed burgers are meant to have texture but this just tasted like ultra lean beef with a dry sandpaper taste. Again very little cheese flavour came through.
The poutine fries were probably the biggest letdown. Thin fries are fine but there was barely any gravy and hardly any cheese curds. It looked like the emptiest plate of poutine I’ve ever been served.
Overall really disappointing considering the bill came to around £75. For the price I expected far better quality and flavour. Honestly if you want a burger in Oxford I’d rather go to Shake Shack.
There were a lot of highlights. The macaroni balls were delicious and something I’d definitely order again. The coleslaw was also very good. The platter came with both loaded fries and Parmesan fries, and we really enjoyed both varieties.
The burgers were the standout for me. I ordered the Oklahoma Dirty, and my wife had the Beefy Boy. I thought both burgers were excellent, while my wife felt the flavors were a little too bold for her taste.
The only disappointment was the wings. The buffalo sauce tasted more like ketchup with a few seasonings mixed in than a traditional buffalo sauce, and they were easily our least favorite item.
The atmosphere was excellent, and the service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal.
Overall, I’d definitely recommend The Beefy Boys. I’d rate the food 4.5 stars, the atmosphere 5 stars, the service 4.5 stars, and 4.5 stars overall.
