This spacious pub was very quiet when we visited on a tuesday evening. Fish & chips was good but a bit underseasoned. Nothing a pinch of salt didn't fix. Lots of room and friendly staff.

We stopped in for a couple of ciders in a really hot day. We got 2 seats directly under the air conditioning - brilliant. Drinks were cold and the cricket was on. A great visit.

Alex and Callum offered absolutely amazing customer service as they were quite friendly, offered the most perfect recommendations for drinks. The atmosphere is welcoming and cool as this pub has air conditioning, tvs for watching sports, and a plethora of comfortable seating. Feels right at home, but with the best hosts. Easy 5 stars even without checking out the food menu. Would most definitely recommend.

At first, I thought it was slightly on the pricey side, but once the food arrived, the portion size definitely justified it.

The fish was well executed—crispy batter on the outside and juicy, flaky inside. A touch more seasoning in the batter would elevate it further, but overall very solid. The chips were excellent—crispy, fluffy, and properly cooked.

The mushy peas were a standout: not overly blended, still holding some texture, which made them feel fresh and well-prepared. The tartar sauce was good, though I’d prefer a slightly larger portion with a bit more herb presence to bring more brightness.

The pub atmosphere was great—comfortable and welcoming—and the Guinness was spot on.

Overall, a very enjoyable meal with just a few small tweaks away from being excellent.

Poped in here at lunchtime and it was reasonably quiet downstairs and almost empty upstairs. Lovely decor and atmosphere and nice Christmas decor. Service was speedy and friendly and the food came reasonably quickly.
They even have a phone charging device.
We went for fish and chips which was lovely and a good sized portion.
Opposite the theatre so handy if that's where you are heading
