Magdalen Tower stands as an iconic and commanding late-perpendicular Gothic bell tower, completed in 1509, making it the tallest medieval structure in Oxford at 144 feet (44 metres) high. Oxford boasts many famous buildings, but one stands out above almost all others: Magdalen Tower. The 44-meter-high tower was built between 1492 and 1509 and is part of Magdalen College. The tower is also known for its bells, which are rung on various occasions. On May 1st at 6:00 AM, the college choir will sing two hymns, marking the start of the May Morning celebrations in Oxford.

Impressive tower housing 10 bells, built in the early 16th century. The tower is one of the oldest parts of Magdalen College, and stands amongst Oxford's tallest structures, forming a very recognisable part of the city's skyline. Good views of the tower can be enjoyed from the Botanic Garden.
