Details

Jungle is an immersive community hub found in the heart of Cowley, Oxford, designed to foster creativity, friendships, and a strong sense of local community. Its character is distinctly welcoming, offering an atmosphere of encouragement, peace, and rest for all who visit, regardless of background. Adorned with lush plants, hanging creepers, and vibrant murals, the "jungley" theme creates a unique, almost other-worldly environment, drawing inspiration from biblical metaphors of the garden. This distinctive setting makes it a standout destination for visitors seeking connection and a nurturing space.

The centre offers a diverse range of programmes and activities for the community. These include engaging children's story times, an Art Gym providing free guided drawing and painting sessions for adults, and a monthly social gathering for individuals in their twenties and thirties. Additionally, the Jungle hosts lively karaoke and bingo nights, creating opportunities for social enjoyment and connection. As a registered Warm Welcome space, it provides a cosy spot to enjoy free tea, coffee, and biscuits while meeting new people.

This unique Oxford establishment appeals to a wide audience, particularly those seeking to build meaningful relationships and engage in creative pursuits. It is perfectly suited for families with young children, adults exploring their artistic talents, or young adults looking for a sense of belonging in a supportive environment. The Jungle's overall appeal lies in its commitment to holistic well-being, providing a genuine space of hope and practical support within its inviting, vibrant setting.

If my treatment and recovery were the foundation, then The Jungle Charity is the strong brickwork and structure that has helped hold everything together for me. This is not only a beautiful space, but an incredible community where I, along with many others, can relax, share thoughts, and talk openly about our feelings. It offers massive support for both myself and the wider community, and it has become a vital part of my recovery and my life. It also welcomes a wide and diverse range of people, and the space is enriched by a beautiful array of artwork by Micah Hayns, which adds to the sense of safety, creativity, and expression throughout the hub. I would recommend this place to everyone. It is somewhere where the tea and coffee flows, the laughter is constant, and all ages and backgrounds are welcomed without judgment. It is more than a home away from home for me, it is a genuine game changer and, for people like myself, a real lifesaver. I love these guys ❤️

An excellent afternoon, drawing with Micah Hayns. Everything was provided & it was a really friendly group, right in the Temple Cowley shopping centre, in the 'Jungle Art Gallery.' A great way to spend a Saturday afternoon!
