Loved this theatre. Staff were very friendly but I have only one problem and that is there's no air con, we watched legally blonde and it was super hot

It's a lovely theatre near lots of pubs and restaurants. I'm a wheelchair user so was in the accessible seating at the back. There was plenty of room and there were screens so you could see what's going on on the stage, although the picture quality wasn't great.
The staff were so friendly and helpful. I'd love to come back in the future.

The Theatre itself is nice. It’s old and still holds the charm, however not having aircon or even a fan really ruined it for me with the heat, I could smell everything and everyone it was awful.

My reason for the low score review is actually from a security point of view, my ticket was not scanned once, my bag was not checked at all and honestly I could have been anyone walking into the theatre, I’m a avid theatre/concert goer so this was quite alarming to me, at the very least I would have thought my ticket would have been scanned, it’s also not very well managed, people were queuing in the street and infront of moving vehicles, everyone was pushing and shoving…

The Actual show was amazing though! I commend the actors/actresses for working in such hot temperatures 🤍

Really enjoyed my visit to the New Theatre Oxford!
It’s a classic theatre that really brings nostalgic vibes!
The red and gold décor, along with the black vinyl record detailing on the ceiling, give it a rich, vintage feel.
The sweeping balconies, deep red seating, and soft footlights add to the charm, creating a warm and atmospheric space.
The lighting enhances that vintage look, making the whole experience feel even more magical.
You can almost sense the history, with echoes of past performances lingering in the air.
It’s a beautiful venue that captures the true spirit of traditional theatre while still being comfortable to visit today.
Would happily return just for the atmosphere alone.
