Good cost benefit. The location is ok. To share rooms has its pros and cons, but for the price I believe that was fair. There was more than one shower and toilet for floor. The cleaning was regular.

I stayed for three nights at the Oxford Central Backpacker’s hostel and had an amazing time. The hostel is beautiful and has so many good and updated amenities especially considering the price per night. Free refreshments are provided and a fully stocked kitchen is more than encouraged to be put to use. What ultimately made the stay was the friendly staff. On the morning of my checkout, the friendly member of staff, Sara kindly offered to hold my luggage and assisted me in doing so which made my morning. I would recommend this over any hotel it was by far the nicest hostel I’ve been able to stay at.

Located close to the city centre of Oxford, this is the most suitable stay for backpackers who wish to stay in oxford to explore the town. At walking distance from most of the oxford landmarks and tourist destinations, they have friendly and helpful staff, free tea and coffee maker, common kitchen and dining area.

WORST PLACE EVER!
We arrived at the premises at 6:40 which is basically almost three hours after the indicated check in time. The lady in the reception guided us to the room. When we entered she said to us “sorry this is our volunteer room so it’s a bit messy” - she then proceeded to showed our bunk beds and she realised that people had left their dirty sheets, underwear, personal belongings, pills on top of it. She asked us to leave and come back as she’s gonna be changing the bed sheets. We went back at 10:40 and looked at the “clean” sheets to find stains all over them and an awful odour coming out. Of course we gave the card back and left and after emailing the “manager” - he refused to refund us and instead gave us the opportunity to go back to a place where our beds weren’t ready and when they apparently were - stains were everywhere. The worst experience every and such the manager should really rethink his position if that’s the kind of service he’s striving for. We are of course proceeded with small claims legal actions.

Great hostel, I stayed here for two nights, wish I could have stayed more. Nice kitchen with all of the amenities to cook. Free coffee, tea along with milk. Sofa with a TV in common room. Free luggage storage..The only minor downside is, kitchen closes at 10.30 pm and opens at 7 am. But it is manageable.
