The food was excellent and the atmosphere was charming. The staff were very pleasant as well. My family and I sat in the snug and enjoyed a leisurely lunch.

Enjoyed a two night stay at the Black Boy Inn while visiting Oxford. We enjoyed staying in a quiet neighborhood which felt far from the busyness of Oxford but was a very close drive into city center. The rooms were very comfortable, not too small for two people and the bed was very comfy. The food was excellent; we had a full English breakfast (not included in the price of the rooms) and a dinner one night. Everyone's dishes were wonderful! The staff were very friendly and helpful during our stay. We were lucky to get parking in front of the Inn both days as parking is very limited FYI. We would definitely recommend staying here; enjoyed everything about it!

We only went in for drinks, but the staff were amazing! Had a lovely experience. Normally I wouldn't be arsed to write a review for a pub! But Neil and Amalie were a delight. After a well informed discussion about the wine selection, I was very happy with the choice. Was only planning to have one but with great company and good wine, stayed for more!
Looking forward to returning!

We were three tables and waited 1 hour and 10 minutes for our food, which is completely unacceptable. The steak came with barely any mushrooms and was nothing like before. We’ve been here in the past and it used to be much better, but this time everything went wrong.
The food was not cooked as requested, especially shocking considering the price (£27 for a steak). The staff clearly had no idea what they were doing.
The manager was extremely unhelpful, showed no care at all, and did nothing to fix the situation. She didn’t support her staff or take any responsibility, which made things even worse.
No one came to check on us, offer drinks, or even apologise for making us wait over an hour. My children were very upset and frustrated, and honestly I regret bringing them here.
Very poor service, poor food, and zero customer care. We will definitely not be coming back
