The perfect place to stay in Oxford - very nice, charming and tastefully decorated hotel with lovely and caring hosts. Our room was very clean and well organised. Parking is possible directly at the hotel. The city centre is only a few minutes away by foot or bus. We absolutely loved our stay here!

Evelyn is a legend. We had booked another hotel on Booking.com that looked great but, on arrival in the late afternoon, was under renovation and really not suitable. It was the same weekend as the Oxford graduation ceremony and we were in a pickle.

We found the Lakeside Hotel on Booking.com and managed to get the last room they had available. We were provided an old access code by Booking but there was a mobile number at the entrance which we called. Evelyn messaged me and gave us the correct code. She was super-helpful and kept i contact to ensure we had everything we needed.

The hotel is an independently-owned boutique hotel and the extra care and service sets this hotel apart. The room was spacious and well appointed. We had everything one would need and more. The entrance hall and dining room are well decorated and coffee, tea and fresh water is available 24/7. The large bathroom boasted a roomy shower and there is off road parking available. The hotel is opposite lovely green sports fields and adjacent to a lovely park.

The next morning Evelyn gave us a full run down of Oxford and it's attractions. The Lakeside is situated just outside the ULEZ zone and is a very convenient 10 to 15 minute walk from the Oxford city centre. The river is a quick walk away and you can take a walk past the famous Oxford rowing club clubhouse to the city centre.

What a great experience.

Our kind hosts, Alan and Evelyn, took excellent care of us. They offered helpful suggestions and genuinely wanted to know how our stay was going. My cousins and I had a fabulous time!

The beds were comfortable, the room was spacious, and bathroom amenities were available if needed. In the lobby, there were plenty of recommendations for places to eat, shop, and sightsee. A fun little touch was the map where guests could place a pin showing where they came from—such a lovely idea!

The location was phenomenal: just a 15-minute walk or a five-minute bus ride to the city centre.

Oxford Lakeside is a 10/10 place to stay!

Alan and Evelyn were pleasant, friendly hosts. The house is in a convenient location just south of Oxford proper - you can walk to High Street in 10-15 minutes, or take one of the many busses that pass by. Our room was spacious, and so was the shower (a major plus because some showers I've encountered in the UK are so small you can barely turn around in them). My only complaint was that the fold-out bed for our third person was not comfortable. However, I informed Alan and Evelyn and they said they'd fix it. Lakeside Oxford Hotel was a satisfying stay.

For our first visit to Oxford, staying at Lakeside Oxford was a wonderful experience. The hosts, Alan and Evelyn, were exceptionally helpful and welcoming. Alan kindly shared useful tips on places of interest to visit as well as recommended restaurants to dine at. Evelyn suggested an alternative riverside walking route to the city centre, which was peaceful, scenic, and enjoyable.
The property also provides parking, which is extremely convenient for travellers driving to Oxford. The city centre is about a 15-minute walk away, making the location both practical and relaxing. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would gladly recommend Lakeside Oxford to anyone visiting the city for the first time.
