We selected this guest house on the basis of the reviews and I can totally see why this place scores so consistently high.
The communication from the owner Paul was excellent - attentive and helpful.
Upon arrival, he was warm and welcoming telling us about the history of his beautiful home and guest house along with tips for local lunch options and things to do in Oxford.
We really prefer to give our money to individual businesses rather than large chains such as hotel companies etc and the Sandfield Guest House was really lovely and an example of great service.
They don't offer breakfast, which is an interesting approach.. many do, but I guess this is reflected in the price and it gives you the option to either go to one of the many lovely local options or not pay for a breakfast you many not need.

My room, a single with separate bathroom was spotless and it looked as though it was freshly decorated. Having a separate bathroom was fine and a bathrobe was provided to spare any blushes if I met anyone one the landing , which I did not.
There are plenty of shops, bars etc within a few minutes walk to buy supplies as breakfast is not supplied, again not an issue for me.
I would highly recommend this guest house.
